“Štampujit” is a type of embroidery by pattern, performed by using the “loop stitch” technique on plush, and most often used to decorate ceremonial women’s costumes in the Negotin Valley and along the banks of Danube. This type of embroidery is performed with a vertical semi-mechanical needle of desired thickness, so a highly decorative pattern is embroidered on black plush, according to a pre-drawn pattern. Floral motifs are predominant, mainly in red and green thread.
